CLEVELAND – Cuyahoga County Prosecutor Michael C. O’Malley announced that a Cuyahoga County grand jury has returned an indictment charging George Ivery Jr., 21, for making terroristic threats for live streaming inside Tower City with a gun, pointing a gun at traffic on I-90, and shooting into the air in Lakewood.

On November 9, 2024, around 3:05 p.m., George Ivery Jr. went live on his personal Instagram account entering Tower City with a firearm and a mask covering his face. Multiple people called the police and the Cleveland Division of Police (CDP) responded to the scene. He was arrested the next day.
Further investigation conducted by CDP revealed that Ivery Jr. has a history of recording himself and posting on his Instagram account. One video showed him inside a Cleveland State University parking lot pointing a firearm at vehicles driving on I-90. Additional videos revealed Ivery Jr. shooting multiple rounds into the air in Lakewood. He would also walk through downtown Cleveland and Lakewood parks holding a rifle and making threats.
On November 19, 2024, George Ivery Jr. was indicted on the following charges:
- One count of Making Terroristic Threat
- Two counts of Inducing Panic
He will be arraigned at the Cuyahoga County Justice Center at a later date.
