CLEVELAND – Cuyahoga County Prosecutor Michael C. O’Malley announced that a Cuyahoga County grand jury has returned an indictment charging Tamara McLoyd, 18, for the murder of 25-year-old Cleveland Police Officer Shane Bartek.
On December 31, 2021, McLoyd ran up behind the victim with a gun, robbed him, and then shot the victim. After, she fled the scene in the victim’s vehicle. The Cleveland Division of Police and Emergency Medical Services responded to the scene. The victim was transported to a nearby hospital where he was pronounced deceased.
Tamara McLoyd has been indicted on the following charges:
- Two counts of Aggravated Murder
- Two counts of Murder
- Two counts of Felonious Assault
- One count of Aggravated Robbery
- One count of Grand Theft
- One count of Having Weapons Under Disability
- One count of Petty Theft
She is currently being held at the Cuyahoga County Jail on a $5,000,000 bond. She will be arraigned at the Cuyahoga County Justice Center at a later date.
