CLEVELAND – Cuyahoga County Prosecutor Michael C. O’Malley announced that Christopher Stinson, 19, pleaded guilty today to killing 26-year-old Antwoina Carter in March 2024. Stinson was sentenced to 27 to 32.5 years in prison.

“Tragically, this is the senseless gun violence we are seeing every day in our county. This maniac fired 20 rounds at 26-year-old mother Antwoina Carter taking her life. He deserves to spend the next 27 years in prison.”

On March 17, 2024, around 4:30 a.m. Antwoina Carter was driving her car near her residence on East 105th Street near Garfield Avenue in Cleveland. Trinity Ford, 19, was also driving her car with front passenger Lashuwndre Coleman, 20, and rear passenger Christopher Stinson on East 105th Street in Cleveland. Carter passed on the right side of Trinity Ford’s vehicle and hit her brakes, stopping her vehicle. Immediately after, Stinson fired at least 20 shots at the rear of Antwoina Carter’s vehicle striking her in the back. Ford, Stinson, and Coleman all immediately fled the scene.

CPD was already at Carter’s residence for an unrelated matter that occurred earlier on March 17, 2024. EMS responded to the scene and Antwoina Carter was transported to a nearby hospital where she was later pronounced deceased. The Cuyahoga County Sheriff’s Department conducted the investigation. Video evidence linked Stinson, Coleman, and Ford to the homicide.

On January 23, 2025, Christopher Stinson pleaded guilty to the following charges:

  • One count of Involuntary Manslaughter (F1)
  • One count of Felonious Assault (F2)
  • One count of Discharge of Firearm On or Near Prohibited Premises (F1)

He was sentenced to 27 to 32.5 years in prison.

Trinity Ford and Lawshuwndre Coleman previously pleaded guilty and will be sentenced on a later date.
