CLEVELAND – Cuyahoga County Prosecutor Michael C. O’Malley announced that a Cuyahoga County grand jury has returned an indictment charging Amin Walker Jr., 23, Mariah Graves, 23, and Legacy Simmons, 26, for their involvement in the homicide of Cleveland Heights grandmother Edith Moore. In addition, a 16-year-old male was charged in juvenile court.
“This isn’t this punk’s first go-around. Amin Walker was previously convicted of robbing a priest in Collinwood. Now he has caused the death of an innocent 74-year-old grandmother during the course of a robbery. When convicted, he should never be released again.”

On January 4, 2025, around 3 a.m., Mariah Graves drove Amin Walker and the 16-year-old male to Edith Moore’s residence near Randolph Road and Lecona Drive in Cleveland Heights. Amin Walker and the 16-year-old male entered Edith Moore’s residence. They attempted to rob the 18-year-old victim inside the residence. During the course of the incident, the 18-year-old victim was shot in the leg and Edith Moore was shot in the head. Walker and the 16-year-old male ran out of the house, and Graves, Walker, and the 16-year-old fled the scene. Additionally, a 16-year-old victim was inside the residence and was not harmed.
The Cleveland Heights Police Department (CHPD) and EMS responded to the scene. Edith Moore was pronounced deceased at the scene. The 18-year-old victim was transported to a nearby hospital and treated for his injuries.
The 16-year-old was arrested on January 7, 2024, by CHPD. Amin Walker was located and arrested at East 77th Street at Legacy Simmon’s residence in Cleveland by the U.S. Marshals Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force on January 17, 2025. Legacy Simmons was charged for her actions in assisting Walker during the period after the homicide. CHPD conducted the investigation, and the investigation remains ongoing.
On January 28, 2025, Amin Walker Jr. was indicted on the following charges:
- Two counts of Aggravated Murder
- Two counts of Murder
- Three counts of Aggravated Robbery
- One count of Aggravated Burglary
- Five counts of Felonious Assault
- Three counts of Robbery
- One count of Grand Theft When the Property is a Firearm or Dangerous Ordnance
- One count of Improperly Handling Firearms In A Motor Vehicle
- One count of Having Weapons Under Disability
On January 28, 2025, Mariah Graves was indicted on the following charges:
- One count of Murder
- Three counts of Aggravated Robbery
- One count of Aggravated Burglary
- Five counts of Felonious Assault
- Three counts of Robbery
- One count of Grand Theft When the Property is a Firearm or Dangerous Ordnance
- One count of Improperly Handling Firearms In A Motor Vehicle
- One count of Tampering With Evidence
- One count of Obstructing Justice
On January 28, 2025, Legacy Simmons was indicted on the following charges:
- One count of Tampering With Evidence
- One count of Obstructing Justice
They will be arraigned at the Cuyahoga County Justice Center at a later date.
The 16-year-old male was charged with the following charges in Juvenile Court:
- One count of Aggravated Murder
- Two counts of Murder
- Three counts of Aggravated Robbery
- One count of Aggravated Burglary
- Five counts of Felonious Assault
- Three counts of Robbery
- One count of Grand Theft When the Property is a Firearm or Dangerous Ordnance
- One count of Improperly Handling Firearms In A Motor Vehicle
The State of Ohio has filed a mandatory bindover motion in Juvenile Court seeking transfer of the case to the Cuyahoga County Court of Common Pleas. The 16-year-old juvenile male will have a Probable Cause Hearing at a later date.
