CLEVELAND – Cuyahoga County Prosecutor Michael C. O’Malley announced that a Cuyahoga County grand jury has returned an indictment charging Marvin Flemings Jr., 26, and Marquell Flemings, 23, for the aggravated murder of Tamer Almadi at ELITE clothing store on Euclid Avenue in Cleveland.

“This case, unfortunately, is another example of the senseless gun violence that is plaguing our community. As a result of the Flemings brothers’ actions, an 18-year-old young man tragically lost his life.”

On September 30, 2024, around 11:30 a.m. Marvin Flemings Jr. and his brother Marquell Flemings entered the ELITE clothing store on Euclid Avenue in Cleveland wearing masks and looking for a 38-year-old male. Marvin Flemings Jr. and Marquell Flemings both pulled out firearms and held Tamer Almadi at gunpoint. While Marquell Flemings continued to hold Tamer Almadi at gunpoint, Marvin Flemings Jr. entered the back room of the store looking for the 38-year-old male. During the incident, several gunshots were fired. Tamer Almadi, the 38-year-old male, Marquell Flemings, and Marvin Flemings Jr. were all struck. Before fleeing the scene, Marvin Flemings Jr. executed Tamer Almadi and stole firearms from the scene.

The Cleveland Division of Police (CDP) and Cleveland EMS responded to the scene. Tamer Almadi was transported to a nearby hospital and later pronounced deceased. The 38-year-old male was treated for his injuries and released. Marquell Flemings is in stable condition and is being treated for serious injuries at the hospital. Marvin Flemings Jr. was treated for his injuries and arrested by CDP. The investigation is being conducted by CDP and remains ongoing.

On October 9, 2024, Marvin Flemings Jr. was indicted on the following charges:

  • Three counts of Aggravated Murder
  • Four counts of Murder
  • Two counts of Kidnapping
  • One count of Aggravated Robbery
  • Four counts of Felonious Assault
  • One count of Attempted Murder
  • One count of Grand Theft When the Property is a Firearm or Dangerous Ordnance
  • One count of Tampering With Evidence
  • One count of Having Weapons While Under Disability

On October 9, 2024, Marquell Flemings was indicted on the following charges:

  • Two counts of Aggravated Murder
  • Three counts of Murder
  • Two counts of Kidnapping
  • Four counts of Felonious Assault
  • One count of Attempted Murder

They will be arraigned at the Cuyahoga County Justice Center at a later date.
