CLEVELAND – Cuyahoga County Prosecutor Michael C. O’Malley announced that a Cuyahoga County grand jury has returned an indictment charging Meonte Robinson, 22, for the murder of a 17-year-old Glenville high school student in Euclid.

“This case is a perfect example of the carnage that guns are causing in our community. We are seeing teenagers with increased access to guns, and unfortunately, in this case, a high school student went to purchase one and lost his life.”

On January 5, 2024, the victim, 17, attempted to buy a gun from Meonte Robinson, 22, near Seabrooke Avenue and East 222nd Street in Euclid. Robinson shot the victim in the chest and leg and then fled the scene in his own vehicle. The Euclid Police Department and the Euclid Fire Department responded to the scene. The victim was transported to a nearby hospital where he was pronounced deceased. On January 15, Robinson was arrested.

On January 26, 2024, Meonte Robinson was indicted on the following charges:

  • One count of Aggravated Murder
  • Two counts of Murder
  • Two counts of Felonious Assault
  • One count of Having Weapons While Under Disability
  • One count of Tampering With Evidence

 

He will be arraigned at the Cuyahoga County Justice Center at a later date.
